About this opportunity

The Africa Prime Initiative competition invites artists from Ghana to submit their artwork for a chance to win a $2000 grant

Founded by Yaya Moussa, the Africa Prime Initiative (API) is the philanthropic arm of Africa Prime, video on demand streaming service dedicated to celebrating Africa’s talent, creativity and achievements..

API’s mission is to empower and provide a platform for African creators to showcase their work, ensuring authentic representation of African cultures on the global stage.

To achieve these goals, API supports emerging artists with grants to further their creative careers. API also provides donations to charitable and philanthropic organizations in Africa aligned with its objectives.

Following successful collaborations in Namibia and Madagascar, API is launching its latest partnership in Ghana with Gallery Soview.

Rewards

• An exhibition of the winners’ collective work will be held at Gallery Soview in September 2024.
• $2000 grant for 5 artists

Eligibility

• Open to Ghanaian artists between 18 and 35 years old in the fields of Painting, Sculpture, Drawing, or Photography.
