Open Call for Protest Art

ArtSwap Inc and Trybe are looking for artists to share protest art for a group exhibition that will take place in Accra, Ghana.

What is Protest Art?

Protest art, also known as activist art, is a form of creative expression that addresses societal, political, or cultural issues. It is a powerful medium through which artists can engage with and comment on current events, injustices, and movements.

Who is eligible?

It depends on what kind of artwork you are sharing. If it’s a painting or sculpture, you would need to be based in Ghana or be able to travel here. If it’s digital, you can be based anywhere in Africa.

All visual artists can apply, regardless of the medium you use to create your work.

When will the exhibition take place?

The exhibition will happen between the last week of October and the first week of November in Accra, Ghana.

Deadline:15th October 2023

How to Apply

  • Send us photos and a description of the artwork
  • Share your full name and location
  • Send the above to (art@artswapinc.com)
  • Use the subject line “protest art open call”
  • Send the above by 15th October

All artists whose boards have been selected will be notified by email.
