About this opportunity

The Zeitz MOCAA & the University of the Western Cape (UWC) Museum invites curators and museum professionals to partake in the fellowship programme. The programme aims to foster the growth of curatorial practice as well as advance scholarship on contemporary art discourse from the continent. It offers fellows exposure to museum practice facilitated by Zeitz MOCAA senior staff and is underpinned by academic rigour in contemporary art scholarship at the University of the Western Cape’s (UWC) outstanding faculty of humanities.

Programme will cover the costs of tuition, accommodation, basic health insurance and a monthly stipend. Travel and visa costs are not included.

Eligibility

• The ideal fellow should have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in an art-related field or equivalent
• You must have knowledge of contemporary art and heritage from Africa and the diaspora
• Excellent writing skills
• You must have an interest in an art-related career
• Two to three years of relevant work experience
• Proficient in English
• You must be a citizen of an African country.
• You should be at least older than 18 years of age.
