The Wildlife Artist of the Year 2024, organized by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF), is a prestigious global art competition that plays a pivotal role in both the art and conservation communities. This internationally acclaimed event invites artists from around the world to showcase their talent in depicting wildlife and nature. The competition is designed to inspire and encourage both amateur and professional artists, irrespective of their age or background, to express their artistic vision of the natural world.
Rewards
The overall winner receives £10,000, which includes a £5,000 personal cash prize and a £5,000 donation to a David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) supported conservation initiative of their choice. The runner-up gets £2,000, including a £1,000 personal cash prize and a £1,000 donation. There are also category prizes of £500 each. Special prizes include the Elizabeth Hosking Watercolour Prize and the Michelle Lee Howk First Time Entrants Prize, each offering a £500 cash prize. The Youth Exclusive category winner also receives a £500 cash prize.
Eligibility
Open worldwide to all artists, amateur and professional, who are at least 15 years old.
Entry Fee
The fee is £25 per artwork for the first two entries, and £15 for each subsequent entry. For the Youth Exclusive category (ages 15-19), the fee is £15 per entry.
