About this opportunity

This is your chance to design the cover for an issue of The Republic magazine! The Republic’s next print issue will spotlight ‘Nigeria Imaginary’, Nigeria’s showcase at the 2024 Venice Biennale organized by the Museum of West African Art (MOWAA). The cover of this issue will be the winning entry from this contest.

Nigeria Imaginary explores the many Nigerians that live in their minds, the nostalgias and dreams of what has been, what is, and what is yet to be. They are calling on artists to use their drawing, painting and/or illustration skills to produce a cover of a significant moment in Nigerian art history that represents the themes of Nigeria Imaginary.

Eligibility

This contest is open to emerging and experienced artists (illustrators, painters, draughts men etc.) who are Nigerian and 18 or older.
