About this opportunity

Trybe is looking for a social media manager and content producer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating content, writing copy, managing a content calendar and helping us build a community.

The ideal candidate is someone who can work autonomously, is proactive, creative and pays attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead content management on WordPress, ensuring blogs are regularly uploaded onto the website.
• Attend creative events, providing real-time coverage through live posts and create engaging post event content.
• Craft compelling social media posts that resonate with our audience and reflect our brand’s personality.
• Create eye-catching posts on Canva, using our templates, to maintain a consistent and attractive visual presence across our social channels.
• Unleash your imagination and come up with fresh, innovative content ideas that will inspire and resonate with our audience, positioning Trybe as a trendsetter in the ever-evolving creative landscape.
• Stay informed about industry trends, cultural movements, and relevant topics to inspire unique content angles.
• Take the lead in planning a content calendar, ensuring a seamless flow of engaging and diverse content that will keep our audience engaged, spark conversations and help to grow our community.
• Identify and share creative events happening across Africa and online in our events calendar.
• Empower African creatives by curating and sharing opportunities that can elevate their careers.
• Research creative spaces and unique locations that provide our audience with the ideal environment to bring their visions to life.
• Highlight the most extraordinary artists, visionaries, and trendsetters across Africa in social posts

Required Skills

• Proficiency in social media management
• Familiarity with WordPress
• The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the creative landscape in Africa or be interested in learning more about it.
• The candidate must have excellent research skills to actively seek out content opportunities.
• They should be able to effectively utilize websites, social media platforms, and other sources to identify relevant information.
• Strong writing skills: Excellent written communication skills are essential for creating engaging posts for both social media and the company’s website. 
• Design skills: Proficiency in using design tools like Canva to create visually appealing posts using templates is required. The candidate should have a good eye for aesthetics and be able to create visually engaging content that aligns with the company’s brand.
• Creativity and content ideation: The candidate should possess strong creativity and the ability to generate fresh and engaging content ideas. They should be able to think outside the box and come up with innovative approaches to promote events and content.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision: While the candidate will work as part of a team, they should also be able to work independently and manage their own workload efficiently. They should be self-directed and capable of making decisions and taking action without constant supervision.
• Proactive and reactive approach: The candidate should possess both proactive and reactive skills. They should be proactive in seeking out new opportunities and creating engaging content ideas. Additionally, they should be reactive in responding to feedback, adjusting strategies as needed, and staying updated on industry trends and developments.
• Flexibility and adaptability: The candidate should demonstrate flexibility in handling diverse tasks and responsibilities associated with the role. They should be able to adapt to changing priorities, evolving needs, and emerging opportunities in the creative industry.
• They should have the ability to take the initiative to identify and pursue collaborations, partnerships, and promotional activities that align with the company’s goals.
