If you’re passionate about creating compelling content, engaging with their international audience, and driving growth, Alley Bar would love to hear from you.  The social media manager will managing the social accounts for not only Alley Bar, but other hospitality locations that are part of the Nyaniba collective. Namely: Treehouse, Barndoor Beer Garden, Jamestown Coffee Roasters and Le Petit Oiseau. 

Key Responsibilities:

Content & social media management

  • Manage the social media accounts for the brand’s five distinct hospitality locations, tailoring content and strategies to target specific audiences and reflect each location’s unique identity.
  • Craft engaging content that reflect the brand story, events, and offerings of the bar to captivate and resonate with the audience.
  • Conceptualise and develop innovative content ideas, campaigns, and strategies to enhance our online presence and drive audience engagement.
  • Provide live coverage of events hosted by the bar, including live streaming, real-time updates, and behind-the-scenes content to enhance audience engagement and promote attendance.
  • Plan and schedule content calendars aligned with promotional events, holidays, and trends to ensure a consistent and timely presence across all social media channels.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, features, and algorithm changes across social media platforms to optimise content performance and reach.

Community management

  • Proactively interact with the online community, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and engaging manner to foster a sense of community and customer loyalty.


  • Develop and execute strategies to increase follower growth, reach, and engagement, leveraging analytics and insights to continually refine and improve performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, events, and management, to align social media efforts with broader business objectives and ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Monitor key metrics and analytics to track performance, identify areas for improvement, and generate regular reports on social media KPIs and ROI.


  • Identify and cultivate brand advocates and influencers within the community to amplify the bar’s messaging and reach new audiences.
  • Ensure all social media activities comply with relevant regulations, including alcohol advertising guidelines, and maintain a high standard of professionalism and ethical conduct in all communications.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation in social media marketing for the bar.
