About this opportunity

The Seán Ó Faoláin International Short Story Competition is calling on all writers worldwide for original, unpublished and unbroadcast short stories in the English language of 3,000 words or fewer. The story can be on any subject, in any style.

Rewards

• 1st prize: 2,000 €, publication in the literary journal Southword
• 2nd prize: 500 € and publication
• Four Runners-Up: 250 € and publication

Eligibility

The competition is open to anyone of any nationality from any country.
