About this opportunity
In the spirit of the French Salon created by the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, this annual online competition, with 12 monthly cycles, leading to the annual PleinAir Salon Art Competition, is designed to stimulate artistic growth through competition. The competition rewards artists with $50,000 in all cash prizes each year, and exposure to their work, with the winning painting featured on the cover of PleinAir magazine.
Winners in each monthly competition receive recognition and exposure through PleinAir magazine’s print magazine, e-newsletters, websites, and social media. Winners of each competition will also be entered into the annual competition.

- A feature on the Fine Art Connoisseur website, and in Fine Art Today and Plein Air Today
2nd Place Overall
- $300 Cash Prize
3rd Place Overall
- $200 Cash Prize
Eligibility
- All individuals entering must be at least 18 years of age.
- Competition is open to residents of any state or country where acceptable by law.
- Those entering the Artists Over 65 categories must verify their age if selected as an award winner..
Entry Fee
- Each entry must be accompanied by an entry fee.
- The fee for the first image submitted is $38, and additional images submitted are $16 each. (U.S. dollars)
- During the Early Bird Incentive the first two weeks of the month, the prices are reduced to $29 for the first image and $12 for each additional painting.
