About this opportunity
The Oxford Poetry Prize is an annual international poetry competition awarding a single poem written in English. The 2026 edition is judged by Rowan Ricardo Phillips and is open to poets anywhere in the world. The prize recognises outstanding single-poem submissions and offers both cash awards and publication in the print issue of the magazine. All entries are read blind and selected first by the editors before being judged by the guest judge.
Rewards

- Publication in the print magazine for winning and shortlisted poems
Eligibility
- Open to poets aged 18+ anywhere in the world
- Poems must be original, unpublished, and written primarily in English
- No AI-generated or AI-assisted poems are allowed
- Each poem must not exceed 60 lines (titles and spacing excluded)
- Submissions must not have been previously published (including online or social media)
- Each poem must be submitted as a separate PDF file via Submittable
