About this opportunity

We are currently accepting applications to become an Oroko Radio resident. Applications are accepted in English and French.

The not-for-profit internet radio station was founded in 2021 to provide a platform for African and diasporic creative communities while amplifying emerging talent outside of the mainstream,

Since its establishment, Oroko Radio has featured high-profile residents including DJ and academic Kobby Ankomah Graham, rapper and activist Wanlov and Afro-folk artist Tommy WÁ.

Eligibility

• Anyone is eligible to apply. However, priority will be given to Africans and the diaspora, particularly applicants based in Accra.
• Applications can be made in English or French
• Interested participants must include detailed descriptions of the format of the show that they would like to create, as well as the themes or topics.
• The show doesn’t need to be a DJ mix. Applicants can play full songs without transitions, talk in between, host a talk show, or put together sound collages.
• Preference will be given to shows that are different from the station’s current show list, or present new perspectives.
