About this opportunity
The LSI Photography Grant Competition supports photographers working on personal, in-progress photography projects that explore what it means to see and be seen. The grant seeks still-image projects that create space for people, places, communities, histories, or issues to be witnessed with care, dignity, and intention.
The annual grant is supported by the LSI Philanthropy Fund and Leica North America and aims to provide financial support and recognition to photographers whose work demonstrates the power of photography to raise awareness, spark action, or encourage reflection. A Leica camera or Leica equipment is not required to apply.
Rewards
- $7,500 USD grant for the selected recipient
- New Leica camera and lens, courtesy of Leica Camera North America
- Recipient and first runner-up will have their work exhibited at Leica Gallery Paris during the LSI Spring Shoot in Paris in May/June 2027
- Financial support towards completing the photographic project
Eligibility
- Open to photographers globally
- Applicants must submit an in-progress, personal photography project
- Projects must be photography-based and use still images
- Work should explore themes related to people, places, communities, histories, or issues with care, dignity, and intention
- Using Leica equipment is not required
