About this opportunity
Flickr and Black Women Photographers (BWP) are inviting applications for the fourth edition of their annual grant programme, supporting Black women photographers around the world. This year’s open call explores the theme “Traces of Connection,” encouraging photographers to capture the visible and invisible connections between people, places, memories, environments, and themselves. The selected grant recipient will receive funding to invest in their creative practice, while additional finalists will receive professional memberships to support their work.
Rewards
One overall recipient will receive:
- $10,000 USD grant
- Two-year Flickr Pro membership
- One-year SmugMug Pro membership
- Announcement at Flickr’s MODE event
Ten additional recipients will receive:
- One-year Flickr Pro membership
- One-year SmugMug Pro membership
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a Black woman photographer
- Be a current member of Black Women Photographers or apply for membership
- Join the Black Women Photographers Flickr Community
- Submit one photograph responding to the 2026 theme “Traces of Connection”
- Submit a short written reflection explaining how the image relates to the theme
- Complete the online application
