About this opportunity
The Bloomberg Green Docs Competition invites filmmakers to submit short documentaries exploring climate change, nature, global warming, the outdoors, or environmental issues. Films must be under 10 minutes, including credits, and should offer an original perspective that can spark conversation around an environmental topic. Up to five documentaries will be selected as finalists and screened at the Bloomberg Green Docs Film Festival in New York in November 2026. One documentary will receive the $25,000 grand prize.

- Round-trip coach airfare to New York for one representative

Eligibility
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their country/state
- Open to eligible filmmakers internationally, provided they are legal residents of an eligible country
- The entrant must have produced or directed the submitted documentary
- The documentary must be no more than 10 minutes, including credits
- The film must address a topic related to nature, global warming, the outdoors, or the environment
- Films must be in English or include English subtitles, including end credits
- Applicants must have the legal right to submit the film and allow it to be screened at the festival
- Team submissions are allowed, but all team members must meet the eligibility requirements
- Applicants must be able to communicate in conversational English
- Finalists must be available to participate in promotional activities and attend the festival in New York, either virtually or in person
- Certain countries and individuals subject to U.S. sanctions are excluded from the competition
