About this opportunity

The Memorial Maria Luisa Photo and Video Contest invites photographers and filmmakers from around the globe, both amateur and professional, to participate in its 35th edition. This prestigious international competition offers an opportunity to showcase your artistic talent and passion for nature, adventure, and the outdoors.

The contest features a total of 15 categories, allowing participants to submit work across a wide range of themes related to nature, adventure, and the outdoors:

1. Mountain Landscape: Photos capturing mountains and their surrounding environments in any form.
2. Alpinism: Images depicting mountaineering, ice climbing, mountain skiing, and other high-altitude sports.
3. Climbing: Photos of rock climbing, bouldering, urban climbing, big wall, and any other vertical activities.
4. Adventure and Extreme Sports: Images showcasing adventure sports like kayaking, paragliding, mountain biking, canyoning, scuba diving, wingsuit flying, and more.
5. Man in the Mountain and/or Nature: Photos portraying the cultural and social connection between people and their natural mountain environments, including activities like hiking and trekking.
6. Animal World: Photos of animals in their natural habitat.
7. The World of Birds: Images of birds captured in their natural environments.
8. Vegetal World: Photos of plants, including fungi, taken in their natural settings.
9. Submerged World: Underwater photography of flora, fauna, and ecosystems in both freshwater and saltwater environments.
10. Biodiversity: Images showcasing animals or plants within their natural ecosystems, with emphasis on the relationship between species and their environment.
11. Nature Landscapes: Nature landscapes not covered in the Mountain Landscape category.
12. Creative Photo: Abstract and creative photography, where composition focuses on forms, textures, and colors.
13. Macro Picture: Macro photography highlighting the smallest details of nature.
14. Topic of the Year – Portrait Photography: Portraits of people involved with mountain and nature environments, reflecting their lives, work, or activities in these settings.
15. Videos, Films, or Documentaries: Video submissions centered on mountain, nature, adventure, and sports, aligned with the themes of any of the previous categories.

Participants are welcome to submit entries in any or all of these categories.

Rewards

The overall winner will receive a cash prize of €3,000, along with a trophy, diploma, and additional recognition. Each category winner will receive €300. Special prizes include a Samsung tablet for the best young photographer, a Citizen Watch for the best photo in the theme of the year, and a €3,000 voucher for the best video, film, or documentary.

Eligibility

Participants can submit one photo for free, while additional entries are included under a €22 participation fee for adult photographers. Young photographers under 19 can enter for free in all categories.
