In the words of Melissa Kimble, “this world does not move without Black creativity.” @reeltorealityfest is so proud to honour and celebrate the black child through our first, but not last Community Screening, in partnership with @vickydenisechili ‘s Ekasi Bioscope. We will be showcasing a selection of African diasporic animations and shorts to children in Umlazi, KZN on the 25th of March. This partnership is particularly important because it presents the opportunity to return to the communities that raise so many young creatives, yet lack access to African diasporic cinema. Entrance is free to the public and children below the age of 16 will be given priority.
eKasi Bioscope is a mobile movie cinema that screens African Inspired-movies in the townships of KZN.
The event will take place on the 25th of March at KwaPhiri Sontweni, Umlazi E-Section.
Tickets to the Community screening will be FREE but limited. Priority will be given to children below the age of 16.
