Diaspora Fine Art is pleased to announce our inaugural solo exhibition in Accra by Ghanaian Artist Jewel Teiko Eklu. Jewel Teiko Eklu displays a constellation of paintings bordering on myths, fantasies, and playful representations of the global gambling industry, synonymous with taking a chance at life and the uncertainty and arbitrary events that come with it. The visual narratives within the works highlight significant artistic features of different human sentiments and moments. Each painting is distinctive in look and quality as the artist refines the plot, changes the characters, and works on the details until he creates the ideal imagery showing figures and portraits, random quotes, casino symbols, objects, lotto kiosks, and local lotto papers containing working plans and formulas.
