About this opportunity
The IDFA Bertha Fund supports documentary filmmakers in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Oceania by offering them financial contributions, assistance, and coaching to complete their projects. The Fund is looking for creative documentaries that use strong visual treatments to tell compelling stories and have the potential to reach a global audience.
Rewards
- Project Development Grant: Up to €7,500 per project
- Production & Post-production Grant: Up to €25,000 per project

Eligibility
- Directors (for development) or directors/producers (for production & post-production) must live and work in a country on the IBF Classic Country List
- Both emerging and established filmmakers
- Projects must be creative, author-driven documentaries (series, immersive/interactive, or educational projects are not eligible)
