DESCRIPTION:Opportunity type:  Residency\nFor:  Music Creatives\nDeadline: 18/02/24, 10:59 pm\nRewards: € 8,000\nLocation Eligibility: Worldwide\n\nAbout this opportunity\n\nAs part of the Sound Art Residency, the museum will finance a work of sound art that may enter its permanent collection. Sound Art Residency is open exclusively to artists who come from one of the four continents represented in the collections of the musée du quai Branly – Jacques Chirac: Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas. The work produced during the residency may be a transdisciplinary piece, and not strictly a work of sound art. However, the main component of the piece must be sound of any type (music, spoken or sung voices, ambient sound…).\nRewards\n\nThe laureate will receive an endowment of 8,000 € net. This sum covers the artist’s as well as purchase by the museum for entry into the museum’s collection and delivery of the finished artwork (digital file or any other format).\n\nOn top of this sum, the museum will directly finance the following costs:\n\nHousing and travel for work sessions in Paris at the museum and at Le Fresnoy in Tourcoing.\nThe production costs are limited to a maximum amount determined for each project by the museum and based on the technical specifications as presented in the application.\nThe cost of any technical materials or installation needed to present the piece (purchase/rentals/installation/maintenance)\nThe potential use of any sound sources that are not in the public domain or that do not come from the museum’s audio and audio-visual archives is not to surpass a maximum amount determined by the technical specifications of the project as presented in the application.\n\nEligibility\n\n\nThere is no age limit to apply.\nTo be eligible, candidates must be citizens of a country located on one of these continents or holding double nationality.\n\nEntry Fee\n\nFree\nHow to Apply\nApply using the link: Sound Art Residency Program.\nAll questions regarding this award should be sent to residencesonore@quaibranly.fr.\n
