About this opportunity

Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS) is offering a 3-month International Creator Residency in Tokyo for six outstanding and motivated international creators in the fields of visual art, film, design, and architecture. The program includes studio work and culminates in an Open Studio and/or a Result Presentation at TOKAS Hongo.

Selected participants will receive a round-trip flight, daily living expenses, a project fee, and private accommodation. Shared studio space will be provided. Residencies are non-extendable and span one of the following periods:

1. 1. May–July 2026

   2. September–November 2026

   3. January–March 2027

Note: Applicants must have 5+ years of experience in their field and must not be students at the time of the residency.

Deadline to submit portfolio: July 2, 2025, 23:00 (JST)

Rewards

• Open to international (non-Japanese) artists in visual art, film, design, and architecture
• Must have at least 5 years of experience in your discipline
• Must not be a student at the time of participation
• Past participants of this specific program are not eligible to reapply
