About this opportunity

The Canva Africa Design Challenge invites creators, designers, freelancers, and students across Sub-Saharan Africa to design practical, culture-rooted Canva templates that support African small businesses, solopreneurs, and freelancers. From WhatsApp menus and price lists to email templates, business cards, social posts, brand kits, reels, and rate cards — participants are encouraged to submit original designs that reflect real entrepreneurial needs across the continent. Multiple entries are allowed, and winning templates will be published on Canva for millions to use.

Rewards

• A total prize pool of US$10,000 will be shared between the top five designs.
• Winners will also receive a one-year Canva Pro subscription, exclusive mentorship sessions with Canva designers, official Canva merchandise, and their templates will be published globally on the Canva platform.

Open to creators and designers from across Sub-Saharan Africa. Applicants must have a Canva account and can apply as freelancers, students, content creators, or independent designers. All submissions must be original Canva templates created specifically for this challenge.
