About this opportunity
Now in its 8th edition, the New Dimensions Lab is looking for experienced African artists and creative technologists to develop nonfiction XR storytelling projects with guidance from leading international advisors. Over the course of a week in South Africa, participants will engage in discussions, masterclasses, and collaborative workshops to refine their immersive projects. The lab is proudly presented by Electric South and supported by Agog and the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa.
Rewards

- Two participants will receive financial contributions towards production of their work
- Networking and collaboration with interdisciplinary African artists and technologists
Eligibility
- Citizens or permanent residents of an African country
- Currently living on the African continent
- Established artistic practice (any discipline: film, theatre, performance, visual arts, photography, design, game development, creative tech, etc.)
- Able to travel from/to an airport in an African country
Project requirements:
- Must be nonfiction stories (creative interpretations and docu-fiction hybrids welcome)
- Must use immersive technologies (VR, AR, photogrammetry, volumetric capture, AI, 360 film, world-building, game engines, hybrid forms, etc.)
