About this opportunity

ARAK is pleased to announce the 2026 Curatorial Fellowship Programme, established to support young and mid-career curators based on the African continent. The fellowship provides a structured residency for research, curatorial development, and exhibition production.

During the residency, the fellow will:

• Research the ARAK Collection to develop a curatorial concept and exhibition proposal
• Write and revise exhibition catalogue texts
• Conduct in-depth research on selected artists and artworks
• Prepare a curated exhibition to be approved and produced under ARAK’s supervision

Rewards

• USD 20,000 total grant: USD 5,000 for research expenses and USD 15,000 for exhibition production and catalogue publication
• Opportunity to curate an exhibition using the ARAK Collection
• Mentorship and guidance from the ARAK Collection Advisory Committee
• Hands-on experience in exhibition development, research, and catalogue writing
