About this opportunity

The Embassy of Foreign Artists (EOFA), in partnership with the Centre for Digital Humanities and Multilateralism at the Geneva Graduate Institute, is offering a three-month residency in Geneva for artists interested in researching the archives of international organisations.

Artists are invited to develop projects using archives from organisations such as the UN Archives Geneva and the International Committee of the Red Cross. Projects could explore untold human stories, international decision-making, diplomatic history, the successes and failures of international cooperation, or new ideas for the future.

Eligibility

  • Open to professional artists and artistic researchers
  • Must be over 28 years old at the time of application
  • Must have an established professional artistic practice, including professional-level creations, publications or performances
  • Must not be enrolled in a basic art training programme during the residency
  • Must speak English or French
  • Your proposed project must use archives of Geneva-based international organisations as a primary resource
  • Individuals, duos and groups can apply
  • Applicants must cover their own travel and any artistic production costs
