About this opportunity
MacDowell offers residencies to emerging and established artists, providing dedicated time and space to focus on their creative practice independently. Fellows receive exclusive use of a private studio, accommodation, and three prepared meals a day for two to eight weeks. There is no tuition or residency fee, and artists can apply for additional financial assistance to help cover travel, living expenses, childcare, rent, utilities, equipment costs, or lost income. International artists are welcome to apply.

Eligibility
- Open to emerging and established artists worldwide
- Applicants must work in one of the following disciplines: architecture, film/video, interdisciplinary arts, literature, music composition, theatre, or visual arts
- Applicants cannot be enrolled in a degree-seeking programme during the residency season
- Doctoral candidates who have completed all coursework may apply
- Artists can apply once every 24 months
- Small collaborative teams of 2–3 people can apply through the regular process; established collectives of 3–12 people can also apply for a two-week collective residency
