About this opportunity
The Yaa Asantewaa Art Prize supports and celebrates women visual artists from Ghana and, for the first time in its sixth edition, Senegal. In partnership with the Institut Français du Sénégal, the prize expands its mission to build a stronger artistic exchange between the two countries. Two winners will be selected—one Ghanaian and one Senegalese—and each will participate in a fully funded residency exchange designed to foster dialogue, cultural immersion, and creative development between Accra, Dakar, and Saint-Louis.
Rewards
- Two winners selected (1 Ghanaian artist, 1 Senegalese artist)
- Fully funded 3-month international residency exchange:
- Ghanaian winner: 1 month in Saint-Louis + 2 months in Dakar (Senegal)
- Senegalese winner: 3 months in Accra (Ghana)

- Opportunity for international artistic visibility and cross-cultural exchange
Eligibility
- Open to women artists aged 18+
- Must be Ghanaian or Senegalese (including diaspora)
- Must be living in Ghana, Senegal, or abroad
- Must provide proof of citizenship or residency
- Submission materials must include:
- Artist bio and statement (max 200 words)
- Portfolio of up to 6 works with full captions
- All materials submitted in PDF format
