About this opportunity
The African Producers Accelerator (APA) is a 12-week tailored programme designed to support mid-career African producers in strengthening their companies, refining their strategies, and expanding their international reach. Run by Big World Cinema in partnership with Bertha Foundation and the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa, and in association with Durban FilmMart Institute and Central Film School, the programme offers personalised support rather than a fixed curriculum. Participants engage in weekly one-on-one strategy sessions, masterclasses, and consultations with international industry experts. The programme culminates in an in-person lab in Cape Town followed by participation in the Durban FilmMart, where producers pitch to investors and connect with global industry stakeholders.
