About this opportunity
The Cortona On The Move | BarTur Grant supports photographers who have invested time and energy into shaping a vision. Developed with the Visual Storytellers Fund, the grant celebrates visual storytellers who advance photographic language through courage, curiosity, and commitment.
Winners will have the opportunity to complete their projects and exhibit their work at the Cortona On The Move Festival in July 2027, offering a global stage to amplify their story.
Rewards
Grand Prize Winner:
- $30,000 cash grant to complete their winning project.
- An Exhibition at Cortona On The Move in July 2027.
- Travel and accommodation to Cortona for the exhibition in 2027.
Two Emerging Photographers:
- $5,000 cash each to complete their winning project.
- Exhibition in Cortona On The Move 2027.
Eligibility
- Open to professional photographers working in journalism or documentary photography.
- Two categories:
- $30,000 Grant for established professionals.
- $5,000 Grant for photographers under 30 years of age.
- Teams allowed if lead member meets eligibility criteria.
- Projects must be in-progress documentary work; previously published projects may be accepted depending on guidelines.
Entry Fee
- $30,000 Grand Prize: $25 per project (submission)
- $5,000 Emerging Photographer Prizes: free of charge
