About this opportunity

The Connect and Create # Creative Tandems Grant, organised by Expertise France and the Goethe-Institut, in partnership with the Institut français, is looking for performing arts and music organisations or artists in Sub-Saharan Africa and the European Union to team up and create collaborative projects.

This grant supports “tandems” – a partnership of one African organisation and one European organisation – to develop joint projects like co-created performances, artistic residencies, workshops, or training programs. Projects must take place between March 2026 and March 2028, last 18–24 months, and can be implemented in Africa, the EU, or both.

Rewards

• This call for projects is supported by a total budget of €600 000 
• Selected projects will be eligible for funding of €20,000 to €60,000 for projects to be implemented over a period of 18 to 24 months between March 2026 and March 2028.
• The support allocated may not exceed 50% of the project’s overall budget.

• Organisations or collectives in performing arts or music
• Eligible Activities are:
  • Artistic co-creations or co-productions 
  • Creative or artistic research residencies 
  • Mutual training and learning programmes
• Eligible projects must meet the following conditions:
  • Be implemented in Africa, in a European Union country, or in both territories
  • Have an implementation period of between 18 and 24
