About this opportunity
CTM Festival and Deutschlandfunk Kultur – Radio Art / Klangkunst, in collaboration with ORF musikprotokoll im steirischen herbst, Ö1 Kunst zum Hören, and tekhnē, invite proposals for the CTM 2026 Radio Lab. The program commissions one new hybrid work at the intersection of radio and live performance, responding to CTM’s 2026 festival theme dissonate < > resonate. The selected work will premiere at CTM 2026 Festival in Berlin (23 January – 1 February 2026), and later be broadcast on international platforms.
Rewards
- €5000 commission fee (covers research and creation costs)
- Premiere at CTM 2026 Festival in Berlin
- Broadcast on Deutschlandfunk Kultur’s Klangkunst (Spring 2026)
- Presentation via Ö1 Zeit-Ton / Ö1 Kunst zum Hören / ORF musikprotokoll (Autumn 2026)
- Travel expenses to Berlin + lodging during residency and festival period
- Short residency in January 2026 to finalise live performance
- Technical/staging support and mentoring by CTM & partners
Eligibility
- Open to individual artists or groups worldwide
- Practices relevant to experimental music, sound art, radio art, new radio drama, and live performance
- Proposals should be for live performance formats (not installations)
- Collaborative projects welcome, but travel budgets must remain modest
