DESCRIPTION:Opportunity type: Residency\nFor: different creatives\nDeadline: 01/02/24\nRewards: Accommodation + Private studio space + stipend\nLocation Eligibility: Worldwide\n\nAbout this opportunity\n\nApplications are now open for the fifth cycle of Black Rock Senegal artist residency!\nBlack Rock Senegal is a multi-disciplinary artist-in-residence program located in Dakar, Senegal, founded by renowned artist Kehinde Wiley in 2019.\nBlack Rock seeks to support new artistic creation through collaborative exchange and to incite change in the global discourse about Africa.\nRewards\nAccomodation in Dakar, Senegal, Studio space and a stipend for artists to use for obtaining materials necessary to their practice while they are in Dakar. And exposure.\nBlack Rock includes a number of indoor and outdoor spaces that are shared between the main house and the residency quarters.  These areas include the main dining table, the library, the gym, the sauna, the swimming pool, and the interior gardens.\nEligibility\nOpen to any applicant over the age of 18.\nThe mediums listed on the application form are: Film Maker, Mixed Media, Painter, Photographer, Sculpture, Sound/Performance/Time-based practices, Textile Artist, and Writer.
