DESCRIPTION:Opportunity type: Prize\nFor: Photographers\nDeadline: 01/09/23\nRewards: €25,000 + exhibition + mentorship + publication\nLocation Eligibility: Worldwide\n\nAbout this opportunity\n\nthe biennial international prize organised by the Foundation to contribute to the acknowledgment and visibility of authors with a professional career in progress and whose work reveals artistic values of special interest in the tradition of documentary photography. The prize, which is awarded to unpublished projects, aims to distinguish and promote the winner’s career by means of a cash prize, the exhibition of the project in the Foundation’s two exhibition halls (KBr and Madrid), and the publication of the corresponding catalogue.\nRewards\n\n\nThe winner will be awarded the sum of 25,000 Euros (twenty-five thousand Euros) gross in order to undertake the selected project within 10 months of the official communication to the winner by Fundación MAPFRE in October 2023.\nDuring that period the winner will receive advice and follow-up from the Fundación MAPFRE photography team.\nIn addition to the financial award, Fundación MAPFRE will produce and organize an exhibition in Espai 2 of the KBr Barcelona Photo Center in February 2025 to present the results of the winning project.
