Films must be under 10 minutes, including credits, and should offer an original perspective that can spark conversation around an environmental topic. Up to five documentaries will be selected as finalists and screened at the Bloomberg Green Docs Film Festival in New York in November 2026. One documentary will receive the $25,000 grand prize.\nRewards\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTop five finalists:\n\nScreening of the documentary at the Bloomberg Green Docs Film Festival in New York\nRecognition as a festival finalist\nScreening opportunities at additional Bloomberg Green Docs events\nRound-trip coach airfare to New York for one representative\nAirport transfers and hotel accommodation for the festival\n\nGrand Prize Winner:\n\nAll finalist benefits\nRecognition as the Grand Prize Award Winner\n$25,000 USD cash prize\n\n\nEligibility\n\n\n\nApplicants must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their country/state\nOpen to eligible filmmakers internationally, provided they are legal residents of an eligible country\nThe entrant must have produced or directed the submitted documentary\nThe documentary must be no more than 10 minutes, including credits\nThe film must address a topic related to nature, global warming, the outdoors, or the environment\nFilms must be in English or include English subtitles, including end credits\nApplicants must have the legal right to submit the film and allow it to be screened at the festival\nTeam submissions are allowed, but all team members must meet the eligibility requirements\nApplicants must be able to communicate in conversational English\nFinalists must be available to participate in promotional activities and attend the festival in New York, either virtually or in person\nCertain countries and individuals subject to U.S. sanctions are excluded from the competition\n\nEntry Fee\nFree\n\n\nHow to Apply \nApply using the link: Bloomberg Green Docs Competition 2026\nAll questions regarding this award should be sent to greendocs@bloomberg.net\n
