DESCRIPTION:Opportunity type: Residency\nFor: Artists and cultural practitioners\nDeadline: 01/03/2026\nRewards: Fully funded residency in Switzerland  + housing + travel + stipend + production/material support\nLocation Eligibility: Pro Helvetia liaison office regions, including West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa \n\nAbout this opportunity\n\nPro Helvetia offers up to three-month residencies at a partner institution in Switzerland for artists and cultural practitioners who are actively contributing to their local cultural scenes. Both individuals and artist duos are eligible.\nThe residency provides participants with opportunities to develop artistic projects or research ideas, network with the Swiss cultural scene, and deepen exchange between Switzerland and the artist’s home country.\nA cultural coach from the local artistic field will facilitate networking and exchange, and applicants may request a workstation and production/material support.\nSpecial support is available for artists with childcare responsibilities, including up to CHF 1,000 per month for childcare or travel expenses of children or carers.\nRewards\nSelected artists will receive:\n\nAccommodation for the duration of the residency\nTravel costs to and from Switzerland\nDaily allowances for living expenses\nCultural coaching from a local professional to facilitate networking and exchange\nWorkstation access (on request)\nContribution towards production/material costs (on request)\nChildcare support of up to CHF 1,000 per month, including for travel expenses of children or carers\n\nEligibility\n\nTo be eligible, applicants must:\n\nBe permanent residents of one of the Pro Helvetia liaison office regions (West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, Arab region, East Asia, South America, South Asia and Vietnam)\nBe active in their local cultural scene in their respective field\nHave a comprehensive portfolio and proven professional experience\nHave a strong professional interest in the chosen Swiss destination, aligned with artistic practice\nSubmit a proposal for a project or research idea that fosters cultural exchange\nBe proficient in English or a Swiss language for effective communication\n\nEntry Fee\n\n\nFree to enter\n\nHow to Apply \n\nApply using the link: Pro Helvetia Residency for Artists in Switzerland\nAll questions regarding this award should be sent to info@prohelvetia.ch ( mailto:info@prohelvetia.ch )\n\n
