DESCRIPTION:Opportunity type:  Competition\nFor:  Photographers\nDeadline: 07/04/24\nRewards: Up to $500 cash prize.\nLocation Eligibility: Worldwide\n\nAbout this opportunity\n\nThe RISE Africa 2024 Action Festival is calling on all advocates, change-makers, innovators and artists working towards more dignified, equitable, sustainable and resilient African futures to enter their annual RISE Africa Photography Competition! \nThe RISE Africa Annual Photography  Competition encourages imaginative and novel thinking to collectively envision the futures of African cities. It aims to promote citizen photography and grassroots storytelling, as well as curated photo-journalism, as a way to excite and encourage citizens and decision makers about their homes. The resulting photography entries will be used to elicit ideas from city officials, urbanists, decision-makers, private sector and civil society who will explore and engage with the exhibition through a number of workshops. These annual showcases intend to produce realistic, novel and positive demonstrations of Africa which are curated from within.\n\n\nTheme for 2024: EVERYDAY POSSIBILITIES…[from neighbourhoods to cities]\n\n\nRewards\n\nThe winner will receive $500.\nTwo finalists will each receive $200.\n\nEligibility\n\nAll entrants must be over the age of 18.\nThe content and context of the images must be of, or in, African cities.\nEntries must be photographic in nature (still images captured using a camera) — no other media form will be considered.\nNo images in which children are identifiable by their faces will be considered eligible.\nNo synthetic or artificially generated images are allowed\n\nEntry Fee\nFree.\nHow to Apply\nApply using the link: RISEAfrica 2024 Photography Contest.\nAll questions regarding this award should be sent to luka.dreyer@iclei.org or vida.madi@iclei.org\n
